Pillo Hotels
Ion Equity founded Pillo Hotels in 2008 to be an energetic new hotel brand targeting the premium 3-star and 4 star market in the UK and Ireland. Ion Equity attracted leading executives from Jurys Inns to build the Pillo platform.
Pillo secured sites and planning permission for its new build hotels in the UK, while also taking over the management of a number of hotels in the Irish market. The Pillo team built a strong reputation for its operational capabilities as well as their ability to identify and secure high quality development opportunities.
Following an approach, Ion Equity sold Pillo Hotels to Dalata Hotel Group plc in 2014. The Pillo management team have gone on to be key senior management in Dalata, led by Dermot Crowley, now CEO of Dalata.
